the main reason for us was the realization that we were almost literally throwing money away with the disposables. With 2 kids, we'd spend at least $50/month on diapers. I'd much rather put that money into the college fund (or the formula fund, more realistically...

We are using cloth diapers for all 4 reasons! Money and health are the top 2, but I like how it helps the environment, and they are cute!!!

I do cloth diapering for many reasons. I am avoiding unnecessary chemicals brought on by disposables, it's better for the environment, they look super cute on baby, and it's cheaper!

I LOVE the moo print, way too cute!

We decided to use cloth diapers mostly because of cost and the environment. They are cute and he hasn't had a diaper rash yet!

1. Health benefits - I don't like the idea of nasty chemicals being so close to my son's skin
2. To Save Money - I hate wasting money on something I'm just going to throw away. With cloth I know that I can reuse it on the next baby.
3. Environmental Reasons - I can't imagine all those nasty diapers in landfills taking forever to decompose.
4. Because it's Cute: I'm only just now getting started with the cute prints.

1. Health reasons (My daughter has very sensitive skin and will break out from disposible diapers or wipes!)

2 + 3. My Dh and I disagree on this one. My number 2 is because it saves money (alot!), his number 2 is it helps the environment.

4. It's cute!
I remember a few days ago, realizing my dd didn't need a diaper cover under her dress, it was cuter with just the diaper!

1. Money - sorry but it is the first reason we went to cloth.
2. Environment - I love doing whatever I can to help the environment.
3. Health - I did not really consider the health benefits until we made the switch.
4. Cuteness - it took awhile before I got wrapped up in how cute they are :)

1. Environmental reasons: We felt the environmental impact of not only the disposal of disposables, but also the production of them was more than reason enough to use cloth. We also have a high efficiency washer, and haven't seen an increase in the water we use, even with two in cloth.

2. Health benefits: I feel much better about the materials in cloth than in disposables.

3. To save money: Not spending money on diapers every week helps us make it on one income.

4. Because it's cute: Even though this wasn't an initial reason for going with cloth, I definitely reach for the cuter ones first.

1. Health benefits- my little one has very sensitive skin and an extremely bad case of eczema. Disposable diapers left his poor bum very red!!! We initially switched to cloth for this reason
2. Money- last year (around march) I did some math and discovered that I saved just over $1000 by using cloth!!! My son is still in diapers now so I imagine that that figure has doubled :D
3. Environment
4. Cuteness- just an added bonus in my opinion!

Here is the order of importance for why we cloth diaper:

1. To save money - I love that I buy diapers once and can use them for ALL of our kids.
2. Environmental reasons - I hate the idea of throwing so many diapers in a landfill!
3. Because its cute - Who doesn't love putting a cute diaper on their baby's bottom?
4. Health benefits - I didn't realize till afterwards, but my daughter gets diaper rash ALL the time with disposables. With cloth, she doesn't get it as frequently and I feel better about putting a soft diaper on her bottom when it's sore. Plus, disposables have nasty chemicals in them and I hate to use them with that knowledge.

1) Money: During the first six weeks after my son was born, we spent SO much money (that we really couldn't afford) on disposable diapers. I decided that we needed to take the plunge and go with cloth. Our diapers have nearly paid for themselves already, and he's only 3 months old!

2) Environmental benefits: I felt horrible about filling our landfill with diapers, and loved that cloth diapers can be used by more than one child.

3) Health benefits: Not having overly-processed paper products on my son's sensitive skin has made him a happier baby and has given me one less thing to worry about.

4) Cuteness: There is nothing more adorable than a cloth diapered baby. Nothing!

These diapers look awesome, I'd love to try them!

We probably started using cloth after reading about the health benefits, but kept it up to save money, then environment. Cuteness is last, since there are obviously a lot of cute choices- they just don't always go with the trying to save money factor.

1. health- i started cloth diapering over 10yrs ago bc my son was breaking out in HORRID rashes. My 3yo started down the same path at about 1.5months old and i knew what was coming so i switched him over, never had a problem again. my 21month was CDd from birth.

2. money-we have saved a LOT of money on diapers since my youngest was able to use his brothers diapers.

3. cuteness-

4. environment-i HATE HATE HATE the thought that the diapers i used on my 14yo and 10yo are STILL sitting in some landfill.

I just recently switched to cloth for first the health benefits - my 9 month old has very sensitive skin, second was cost - i have 2 in diapers (1 is working on potty training), third realized the waste factor and how much i was throwing away, the versatility and cuteness are great. Diapers with personality kinda fun.

i have also learned that at least ones im cureently using are more absorbant than disposables. So far have had NO LEAKS. i would love to try RMD's as i am still trying different ones to find the best fit and coverage.

You need to put a Rocky Mountain baby in that ADORABLE Rocky Mountain Diaper :D

Here's my reasons, in order:

2. Health benefits? The health benefits are what actually got me CDing full time. No diaper rash, and no chemical exposure.
3. Environmental reasons? This is an extra for me...Its great to be green, but I'm doing it more for my baby and my pocketbook than the green factor.
4. Because its cute? This is the bonus in the CDing for me...OH THEY ARE CUTE!! Love the patterns and designs that are out there.

We thought about using cloth with our older kids, but lived in an apt and the $1 wash $1 dry would have killed us! I was in an online community that had an entire forum devoted to CD, and started lurking there when my 4th baby was a couple of months old. I won a half-dozen AIO's an AI2's in a swap, and another generous mama gave me a dozen prefolds and I was off on our CD adventure!!! My motivation is about 50% money, 25% cuteness, and 25% environmental/health. If I am totally honest with myself, I doubt I'd be using CD's if they weren't so darn cute!!! Here's my FB link: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=710922969&ref=profile, tweet at http://twitter.com/jewelmcjem#/jewelmcjem (don't know how to link specific update)

I definitely like the environmental benefits and the idea of keeping natural fibers next to my daughter's skin. It's so hard to choose. I think they are all about even. Some days I feel most proud about saving money, some days the environment. I think all 4 even out. Thanks for the giveaway!

We are using cloth for all 4 reasons, but mostly because it is a HUGE money saver. My in-laws question our use of water and electricity in washing the diapers, but I've only seen a small increase in our water bill and no increase in electric/gas. That factored in doesn't even come close to the cost of disposables. We used over $100 worth of disposables when my son was a newborn until he fit into our bumGenius. Next baby, we'll be using cloth from the start. It does also make me feel better knowing that we aren't leaving more loads in the landfill.

~To save money $$ (hubby loves that part)
~Health benefits (no diaper rash!)
~Because its cute (can't resist)
~Environmental reasons (less trash is always a good option)

For the environment! For our babies' generation we need to save our environment for them to have cleaner & healthier life.

I just had a baby and right now am using disposables but am looking to get nondisposable diapers to try and I believe this would be the perfect one for our family.

We started out to save money... and that still has a big part in it... but the others all apply as well lol.

I like cloth diapering because it is better for the environment AND it saves me money and trips to the store.
